Windows CardSpace is becoming real. I've spent the last few days working with Steven Woodward from Microsoft HQ. It has been a real pleasure to be exposed to an expert in this field, I must say. We've covered a lot of the more functional parts of CardSpace, and I must say I'm quite excited about the whole technology.

This is a couple of days off the pace, but you can download Microsoft's latest Internet Explorer Web Developer Toolbar (Beta 3) to assist with fiddly and tiresome HTML and CSS nitpicking.

Anyone with a serious amount of experience in HTML and CSS will have known, used and relied upon FireFox's Web Developer toolbar, one of the most valuable tools in web development.

I just downloaded and installed this on Vista. The toolbar doesn't display immediately, on Vista there's a problem that is resolved by logging on and logging off.

I developed a skin for the DotNetNuke Repository module (v. 03.01.10), and struggled to get the skin to render properly. The problem was caused in the module settings - the cache timeout had been set in order to improve the performance. In order to get the module to render properly the Cache Time in Module Settings -> Page Settings had to be set to zero.

When you are logged in as admin or host the modules are not being cached, and you see the expected output. As soon as you open the page anonymously or with a regular user the output doesn't render properly. In my case this rendering had two effects: the [RATINGS] tag was outputting an extra </td></tr></table> and throwing out my whole DNN skin. Also, the resources stored in the Resx files are not read, so all the field labels came out blank.

After a week of massive downloads I found that my Telstra Bigpond Cable connection had become shaped. I still had about five gigabytes to download when I my connection was shaped down to 56.6K.

I called the Telstra Bigpond account department and they told me that they are allowed to release the shaping one time during the contract period. It took about ten minutes for the shaping to be released and my traffic returned to normal. The release works until the end of the month.

If you're a Bigpond cable user and you get shaped early in the month then consider calling the accounts department and getting the restriction removed.

Today I started my new job at Readify.

It was strange going to work in my living room:

• I woke up at 6:00am all excited
• put on my new Readify t-shirt
• booted my computer
• wondered what next

I quickly found that I can easily get jobs from TFS.

I then started to work on Readify's ThreeByThree projects. I'm writing a simple demonstration of WPF data binding converter functionality. My example is going to convert temperature samples between kelvin, celsius and fahrenheit depending on what is written in the XAML.
